For decades, we have been trapped in endless cycles – drowning flood after flood, price hike after price hike, regime after regime – believing there is no way out. We buried our grief beneath drowned streets, inherited debts, and bloodstained alleys. While we survived on scraps, those in power feasted like pests: carving empires out of stolen funds, trading human lives for power, and sucking the future out of our children.
But enough is enough.
The 14th edition of Active Vista Human Rights Festival: WALANG KAWALA calls on us to switch the lights on and turn the shadows of injustice into their own cages. By spotlighting our realities through film screenings and satellite festivals, and by reimagining a future free from this cycle of injustice through exhibitions, forums, and community conversations, we smoke these pests out of their hiding places to take our home back. From cinemas to the streets, we expose their lies, we demand accountability, and we continue to reclaim our freedom.
Hawak na natin ang pamalo. Walang lungga, posisyon, o kapangyarihan na makapagliligtas sa kanila sa ating paniningil.
Sila ang WALANG KAWALA.
